Historic Sites

This Cistercian abbey holds a sculptured cloister with 15th century sculptures. Roughly half way between The Cottage and Innistoge, Jerpoint is a good place to begin a day of sight seeing

Innistoge
This lovely village on the River Nore was the setting for the film "Circle of Friends". A restaurant by the same name is located just off the village square and is a must visit for the deserts alone.

Woodstock Gardens & Arboretum
Once considered one of the Ireland's greatest gardens Woodstock is now being restored. Located just outside the village of Innistoge it makes a for a great relaxing afternoon either before or after enjoying the Circle of Friends restaurant in Innistoge.

Castles

Kilkenny Castle
This impressive castle was renovated during the Victorian era and now resembles a stately home inside the walls but outside retains its formidable appearance.

Rock of Cashel
The Rock of Cashel is one of Ireland's most impressive historic sites. Rising above planes known as the Golden Vale this site holds history going back to the 11th century.

Cahir Castle
Cahir (pronounced Care) Castle is one of our favourite castle and one of the best preserved in the country. An easy twenty minute drive from the Rock Of Cashel makes Cahir perfect for the second part of a sightseeing day out.

Ormond Castle
Ireland's best Elizabethan manor house, Ormand Castle contains some spectacular plasterwork decoration.

Restaurants and Pubs

Over the past few years Ireland's restaurants have experienced a kind of renaissance. Kilkenny has some fantastic restaurants and of course great pubs are never far away.

Kilkenny, Co. Kilkenny

Kilkenny is one of Ireland's most enjoyable cities. There are several amazing restaurants and plenty of shopping, entertainment and of course pubs.

Clonmel, Co. Tipperary

In our opinion Clonmel is one of Ireland's best kept secrets. This market town is a great place to experience the true Ireland while shopping, enjoying a coffee or just wandering the medieval streets.
