The Cottage At Modeshill is a restored 1850's Irish cottage centrally located in Ireland's "Sunny South-East".
Renovated in 2003, this traditional stone-cut building is now equipped with all the modern comforts, including a full kitchen, bathroom, living area and a romantic loft bedroom. The loft has a double bed, and the sitting area below contains a futon couch that folds down to sleep an additional two people.

The Cottage is only 15 minutes from the history and shopping of Kilkenny City, and midway between village of Mullinahone, Co. Tipperary, and the town of Callan, Co. Kilkenny. There are plenty of shops, pubs, and activities within easy reach.
World class golf is close by at Mount Juliet. If hill walking or fishing is your pleasure, then Slievenamon, the Comeragh mountains, the Nore and Kings rivers are all nearby.
History abounds in the area around The Cottage. The surrounding area contains many ring forts and a great battle is believed to have been fought in the immediate vicinity between the Lord Deputy, Sir Stephen Scroop and the Lord of Ely O'Carroll who ruled much of the County at the time. Oliver Cromwell passed along the road outside on his way to sack Callan in 1650.
